Cherokee Nation task force report responding to Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr.'s Executive Order on Data Sovereignty and Self-Governance (2024-07-CTH). Contains eleven recommendations across three areas: adopting NIST AI Risk Management Framework and creating AI Governance Committee; implementing DAMA framework for data management and establishing Data Governance Committee; and citizen outreach including AISES chapter creation and Tribal Innovation Summit. Report grounds all recommendations in Cherokee Community Values (detsadasinasdi itsehesdi - be resourceful; detsadageyusesdi - protect existence like mother protects child; nudantiyu detsadanvwidisgesdi - encourage one another gently). Includes detailed implementation timeline through 2026 and emphasizes that technology should augment, not replace, Cherokee workforce.
